Lizzo shared an important message with Gen Z who have a hard time believing that the celebrities considered "thick" in the 2000s were actually body-positive icons.

Title: The Struggle of Gen Z: Believing the Celebs Who Were Once "Thick" We thought we had heard it all, but apparently, we as a society have to add one more problem to our list of endless worries. It appears that Gen Z is struggling to believe that some celebrities who were once considered "thick" and celebrated for their curves actually were celebrated. Shocking, isn't it? But alas, fear not, Lizzo is here to save the day. In a recent Instagram post, the singer had to remind some of her younger fans of the reality of the early 2000s. She stated, "To the young people - of color -I say this: don't let these ppl tell you that you're not beautiful because of their outdated standards of beauty. You are beautiful because of WHO YOU ARE. There is beauty in all types of bodies, but our society tends to put one type of body on a pedestal." Well, well, well, aren't we blessed to have such wisdom bestowed upon us by the queen herself? What would we do without Lizzo? How else would we be able to remember that society has always lived by impossibly high beauty standards that feed into body-shaming and unrealistic beauty goals? Thankfully, we have Lizzo to help bridge this generational gap and guide our young ones on how to believe that, yes, celebrities like Kim Kardashian were once known for their fuller figures and celebrated for it. But let us not forget that with every problem comes a solution, so we must start educating our youth on the history of beauty standards and celebrate all body types. We can't have our future generation thinking that a body type determines one's worth, now can we? So, cheers to Lizzo for once again saving the day and reminding us all that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes.
